1. Political Reform
CNRT does not support the centralized political system of the current regime, whose established practice constrains the execution of free and fair governance.
CNRT supports the principle of decentralization of political power.
CNRT’s plan will deliver a decentralized political system that incorporates devolved decision-making to include local leaders and local government.
CNRT proposes direct elections for regional parliaments, with administrators elected by the people who are chosen for their competence and their integrity.
CNRT rejects the partisanship current administration, including the nepotism that throws up political appointments, not merit based, resulting in inefficiency that shackles the State economy.
CNRT will institute a continuous and uncompromising campaign against corruption, conspiracy and nepotism, by guaranteeing total independence and enhanced capacity for the Office of the Inspector General, who will act without fear or favour.
CNRT guarantees transparency of government expenditure through the immediate establishment of the Administrative Fiscal and Count Court. The Court will oversee the management of public monies of all governments, past, present and future.
CNRT will establish accountability for Executive action through the parliamentary process.
CNRT supports the strengthening of the country’s justice system, with a particular emphasis on the judiciary, through the provision of better and targeted resources including infrastructure development.
CNRT supports a review of sentencing laws to promote the principle of rehabilitation.
